Frederik Alves on the way? Deal 'extremely close'

‘Talented’ player’s transfer to West Ham ‘extremely close’ – In London for Hammers medical

West Ham United are ‘close’ to sealing a deal for Frederik Alves from Danish side Silkeborg IF.

According to BT in Denmark, the ‘talented’ centre-back was pictured at the Stratford Hotel in London, along with his agent, Christian Bysted.

The two are in the English capital in connection with his move to the Premier League club.

It’s claimed the 20-year-old will undergo a medical with the Hammers, which is why a transfer is ‘extremely close’. The deal will cost David Moyes’ side between 10m kroner and 12m kroner, which is around €1.3-€1.6m.

As per the report, the defender will sign a contract with the London club until the summer of 2024, which will come into effect from January.

Russian side FC Rostov came forward to take Alves in the summer and were ready to offer €1m, but they couldn’t get the deal over the line.

Three weeks ago, West Ham arrived on the scene for the Denmark U21 international, and BT adds Silkeborg IF were ‘so pleased’ with their approach.

“Silkeborg IF A/S are currently negotiating a club change for Frederik Alves Ibsen in the January transfer window,” said a press release issued by the club.

“If the above transaction is completed, the club’s profit expectation in the current financial year will be adjusted upwards to a result before any fair value adjustment of investment properties and before tax in the region of +15 million kroner to +20 million kroner against previously a result in the interval +5 to +10 million kroner.”

Silkeborg director Kent Madsen explained Brexit caused the delay, but the deal is now close to being completed. Alves will arrive at West Ham in the winter market.

This is the type of signing we should be making - low risk high reward. I have no idea who scouted him though, the lad was playing in the danish 2nd division and we have no scouts
